492/8nm Visible Optical Narrow Bandpass Filter Description
The 492/8nm visible light bandpass filter is a high-performance optical filter designed for the blue-green light band of 484-500nm.
- The central wavelength is 492+/-2nm, the half-bandwidth is 8+/-2nm, and it accurately matches the excitation/emission wavelengths of fluorescent dyes Cy2 and Calcein, as well as the peak output of blue-green LEDs, ensuring efficient use of the target light.
- The transmittance in the passband is greater than or equal to 75%, which can optimize the light energy output efficiency.
- The cut-off depth outside the passband is 200-1100nm OD5, which can completely block ultraviolet, red, and near-infrared light.
- We use interference hard coating and fused quartz or other high-quality optical glass such as K9, B270 to reduce the interference of substrate autofluorescence

492/8nm Visible Bandpass Filter Applications
- Flow cytometer live cell detection
The flow cytometer needs to detect the excitation peak of 494nm of Calcein AM labeled live cells, but the wide spectrum output of the laser and the internal stray light of the instrument will cause signal crosstalk, which makes the weak signal of the low-activity cell group easily masked by background noise. The 492/8nm filter can filter out non-target wavelength light in the 492nm detection channel, and only allow Calcein’s green fluorescence ~517nm to pass. - PCB solder joint defect detection
The reflectivity of defects such as cold solder joints and tin beads of PCB solder joints is significantly different under 492nm blue-green light, but the ambient light of the production line will interfere with imaging, resulting in false detection or missed detection. After using the 492/8nm bandpass filter, 492nm light highlights micron-level solder joint defects and significantly improves the grayscale difference of imaging - Algae activity analysis
Phycocyanin has a strong absorption peak at 492nm, and its concentration reflects the algae biomass in the water body, but the 550nm filter in natural light will interfere with the fluorescence signal. The 492/8nm optical filter can filter out non-target fluorescence and output pure 492nm light, matching the absorption peak of phycocyanin. - Photodynamic therapy
Methylene blue derivatives are activated at 492nm to produce reactive oxygen species, but the ultraviolet/red light of the broad-spectrum light source can damage healthy tissues and increase the risk of treatment. This filter can accurately activate photosensitizers, efficiently stimulate ROS generation, and shield harmful bands at the same time
