480/8nm Optical Blue Narrow Bandpass Filter Description
The 480/8nm blue light bandpass filter is a high-performance optical filter designed for the blue light band (470-490nm).
- The central wavelength is 480+-/2nm, and the half-bandwidth is 8+/-2nm. It accurately matches the excitation/emission wavelengths of fluorescent dyes FITC and Alexa Fluor 488, as well as the peak output of blue light LEDs, ensuring efficient use of target light.
- The transmittance in the passband is greater than or equal to 70%, optimizing light energy output and improving signal-to-noise ratio.
- The cutoff depth OD5 in the range of 200-1100nm in the cutoff area effectively blocks ultraviolet green light and infrared light, and reduces background noise.
- We use interference hard coating technology, the filter film has good density and long life

480/8nm Blue Bandpass Filter Applications
480/8nm blue light bandpass filter has important applications in many scenarios:
- Flow cytometer
Flow cytometer needs to detect FITC-labeled CD4 antibody, with an excitation peak of 480nm, but the wide spectrum output of the laser and the internal stray light of the instrument will cause signal crosstalk, especially in multicolor experiments, the weak signal of low-abundance cell populations is easily masked by noise. 480/8nm blue light filter can filter out non-target wavelength light in the 480nm detection channel, allowing only the 520nm fluorescence emitted by FITC to pass - Display quality inspection
OLED screen pixel defects such as dark spots and color deviation have higher contrast under 480nm blue light, but the production line fluorescent lamps and red light auxiliary lighting will interfere with imaging and cause misjudgment. 480/8nm blue light filter can assist blue light to penetrate the surface of the screen, highlight micron-level defects, and enhance brightness differences - Water quality monitoring
Chlorophyll a has a strong absorption peak at 480nm, and its concentration reflects the degree of eutrophication of the water body; cyanobacterial toxins produce characteristic fluorescence under blue light excitation, but natural light interference leads to low signal-to-noise ratio in outdoor detection. 480/8nm filter can assist in outputting pure 480nm light to match the chlorophyll absorption peak. - Live cell imaging
The GFP variant TagGFP2 has an excitation peak of 480nm and is used to mark living organelles, but the ultraviolet and green light of the broad-spectrum light source will accelerate photobleaching and shorten the observation window. In addition, after a period of continuous imaging, the fluorescence signal is significantly weakened. The 480/8nm filter only allows 480±4nm light to pass through, reducing the damage of non-target wavelengths to the sample.
