282/8nm Optical UVC Bandpass Filter Description

282/8nm UVC bandpass filter is a high-performance optical filter designed for UV C band 200-280nm applications

  • Central wavelength 282+/-2nm, half bandwidth 8+/-2nm, accurately matches UVC sterilization such as 275-285nm and specific fluorescence excitation requirements
  • The transmittance in the passband is greater than or equal to 25%, which can ensure the energy utilization of the UV light source
  • The cutoff depth outside the passband is OD5 in the range of 200-1200nm, effectively blocking visible light, infrared light and non-target UV bands, reducing background noise interference.
  • We use high-purity fused quartz as the substrate and use hard coating technology, which is resistant to high temperature and UV radiation aging, and has no performance degradation after long-term use.

282/8nm UVC Narrow Bandpass Filter Applications

  1. UV sterilization equipment
    In the UVC band, 275-285nm is the wavelength range with the highest sterilization efficiency, especially the peak damage to DNA/RNA is at 265-280nm. Traditional wide-spectrum UVC light sources will emit non-sterilizing wavelengths of ultraviolet light such as UVA and UVB, and visible light, resulting in energy waste and equipment heating. Through the 282/8nm narrow-band filter, only the 282±4nm UVC with the highest sterilization efficiency is allowed to pass, shielding stray light in other bands. It can improve sterilization efficiency and extend the service life of the equipment
  2. Fluorescence detection
    In fluorescence detection, the excitation light source needs to accurately match the excitation wavelength of the fluorescent marker, such as some DNA probes are excited at 280-285nm, but environmental stray light will interfere with the detection signal and reduce the signal-to-noise ratio. Through the 282/8nm UVC Bandpass Filter, only 282nm excitation light is allowed to pass, which can meet the requirements of medical diagnosis or scientific research experiments
  3. Spectral analysis
    In Raman spectrometers and UV spectrophotometers, spectral analysis relies on the stability of single wavelength light, but xenon lamps will introduce multi-band interference, causing characteristic peaks to shift or overlap, affecting the accuracy of material component identification. The 282/8nm filter can separate 282nm monochromatic light from a wide-spectrum light source as an analytical reference wavelength to accurately identify the characteristic peaks of the substance.
