505/8nm Dielectric Optical Interference Bandpass Filter

The 505/8nm dielectric bandpass filter is a high-performance optical filter based on multilayer dielectric film technology.

  • The central wavelength is 505+/-2nm, and the half bandwidth is 8+/-2nm, which can accurately match the excitation/emission peaks of fluorescent dyes FITC derivatives, Cy2, quantum dots, and the peak wavelengths of blue-green LEDs/LDs.
  • The transmittance is over 75% in the range of 505+/-4nm, which can optimize the light energy output of the target band.
  • The passband cutoff is OD5 in the range of 200-1100nm, which can effectively block ultraviolet, red and near-infrared light.
  • We use a dielectric coating method with a multilayer film stack design, and high-quality fused quartz and optical glass K9 B270 as the substrate, making the 505/8nm Dielectric Bandpass Filter a core optical component in the fields of fluorescence imaging, industrial detection, and environmental monitoring.

505/8nm Dielectric Bandpass Filter Applications

  1. Fluorescence imaging
In dynamic tracking of living cells, the weak signal of 505nm excitation peak of some GFP variants is easily interfered by stray light of broad-spectrum light sources, resulting in accelerated photobleaching and blurred images. Ultraviolet light and other visible light bands increase phototoxicity and shorten cell survival time. The 505/8nm bandpass filter can only allow narrow-band light of 505±4nm to pass through, efficiently excite the target fluorescent probe, and reduce the light damage of non-target wavelengths to the sample.
  2. Flow cytometry
In multicolor immunophenotyping and rare cell sorting tests, the 505nm channel is easily interfered by 488nm laser scattered light, resulting in signal overlap. The 505/8nm narrowband filter can filter out the non-target wavelength of 488nm at the transmitting end, allowing only 505±4nm fluorescence to pass through, minimizing optical crosstalk
  3. Machine vision
In semiconductor wafer defect detection, the micron-level metal residues and oxide layer cracks on the surface of the semiconductor wafer have significant differences in reflectivity under 505nm blue-green light, but the ambient light of the production line interferes with imaging. The 505/8nm optical filter can allow 505nm light to penetrate the thin film layer, and the brightness difference of the defective area is increased by 5 times.
  4. Optical communication
In underwater optical communication, 505nm has the lowest attenuation coefficient in seawater, but the wide-spectrum light source contains redundant wavelengths, resulting in underwater communication errors. The 505/8nm filter can filter out non-505nm wavelengths, reduce water scattering, and increase transmission distance.
