220/8nm UV Bandpass Filter Description
220/8nm UV Bandpass Filter is a high-performance optical filter designed for UV spectral analysis. It is suitable for scenarios with strict selectivity requirements for the UV band (216–224nm). 220/8nm UV filter can accurately separate UV signals and suppress background noise.
- Our UV bandpass filter is produced by ion-assisted coating and non-inductive process. The corrosion-prone dense layer is sealed in a vacuum layer, which can ensure long-term use and long-term transmittance parameters.
- The central wavelength is 220+/-2nm, and the half bandwidth is 8+/-2nm, ensuring high selective transmission of the UVC segment.
- The average transmittance is greater than or equal to 15%, maximizing signal collection efficiency.
- The cut-off depth is OD5 in the range of 200-1200nm, effectively filtering out visible light, infrared light or other UV stray light.
- There are multiple sizes to choose from: φ9mm, φ10mm, φ12mm, φ12.7mm, φ25.4mm, thickness 2-6mm, and custom sizes are also accepted

220/8nm UV Bandpass Filter Applications
- Protein and nucleic acid analysis
Due to the absorption characteristics of peptide bonds and aromatic amino acids in the UV band, the absorbance of proteins can be accurately measured by a 220/8nm UV bandpass filter to calculate the concentration - Microplate reader
This filter is used in the UV excitation module of the microplate reader to filter out stray light, ensure that only specific wavelengths are used to excite fluorescent markers, and reduce background noise. - Ozone concentration detection
Ozone has a strong absorption peak near 220nm in the Hartley-Huggins absorption band of the UV spectrum of 200-310nm. This filter can accurately match this wavelength and is used in the optical path system of the ozone analyzer to eliminate cross-interference from other gases - DNA/RNA quantification
In trace nucleic acid analysis, the 220/8nm filter can separate the absorption peak near 220nm, avoid interference from other wavelengths, and improve the accuracy of the spectrophotometer or microplate reader.
