3550/80nm MWIR IR Pass Filter Applications
3550/80nm middle infrared ir pass filter has important applications in the infrared field:
- Participate in medium-wave infrared thermal imaging
In the detection of high-temperature targets such as engines, industrial equipment, and flame detection, the high transmittance of 3550+/-30nm can be used to capture thermal radiation signals near 550nm and improve the imaging contrast of high-temperature targets. The strong cutoff of 400-2000nm can suppress stray light of visible light and short-wave infrared, ensuring the reliability of thermal imaging systems in complex lighting environments.
2. Gas detection
The 3350nm filter can enhance the intensity of target signals for the absorption peaks of gas molecules near 3.5μm (such as CH₄, C₃H₈). Thereby monitoring natural gas leaks or performing exhaust gas analysis
3. Security
The 3350nm filter can efficiently capture human thermal radiation (~3–5μm) and can be used to detect targets such as humans and vehicles, reduce interference from city lights (visible light/near infrared), and improve night vision imaging clarity.
4. Laser processing
High-power lasers (such as CO lasers) need to isolate stray light outside the working wavelength during processing, so 3550nm infrared filters can be used for optical protection of laser cutting heads.
